Spectrum Rolfing® – a Foundation Course

Spectrum ROLFING® is an essential preparation for entering and exploring the world of bodywork from a Rolfing® perspective. It is offered in two ways: either in a residential format (100 hours over 15 days) at a country estate (Seminarhaus Domicilium http://meditationshaus-domicilium.de/haus.html) at the foot of the Alps, or in three consecutive modules (96 hours over 12 days) in Munich.

Intensive Format

This course allows participants to continue exchanging and experimenting with the material after class hours. On the days off the surrounding Alps offer beautiful recreational opportunities.

Due to the actual corona situation we cannot offer this format. Please check the modular format for you first step into the Rolfing® training.

Modular Format

The Modular format is offered in three consecutive 4 day weekend workshops at the training center in Munich, Germany or in Hamburg. In between the modules students have the time to study and practice the presented material.

Workshop Content

This course, led by experienced Rolfing® Instructor provides the dynamic framework to enhance self-awareness and exploration with oneself and with other participants.

SPECTRUM is especially designed for those intending to prepare for Rolfing® Certification Training. It is also a valuable practice seminar for any bodyworker wishing to refresh and deepen their basic knowledge in the field of structure, movement and touch.

“I was amazed by the quality of the teaching. I learned a lot about myself and the language of my body”. SPECTRUM participant

Who can register

This entry-level course is open to all.  It will benefit bodyworkers, personal trainers, yoga teachers, dancers, pilates practitioners and everybody working across other health and wellness disciplines; also those with no prior professional experience and perhaps contemplating a career change.  A large proportion of our students go on to train further and become certified Rolfers™.

A 1:7 teacher student ratio is maintained in all our classes.

“Learning happens best if curiosity, fun and sincerity go hand in hand”. Rolfing® Instructor

You will be introduced to the Rolf Movement™ theory of fundamental functions: breathing, walking and basic gestures of expression within the gravitational field. The teaching team will provide guided movement explorations so every participant can experience his/her own movement habits as well as learn to perceive patterns in others.  Exercises take place individually, in pairs or in small groups.  The learning environment is supportive, playful and non-judgemental, and can lead to change and transformation.

Spectrum Rolfing® replaces two of the five Rolf Movement™ sessions required for the Rolfing® Training.

Explore the field of anatomy as a living, connected experience and not just from books.  Anatomical understanding is supported in creating 3-D models with clay, building muscles on skeletons and then palpating those structures with a partner.  Learning regional and topographic anatomy helps participants to develop basic skills leading towards palpatory certainty.

Participation in the Anatomy workshop prepares you for the Admission Paper required to enter Phase 1 of Rolfing® Training.

Gain an understanding of structural Body Reading in relation to gravity and initial manual skills working in the fascial net. The Rolfing touch section introduces you to combining visual structural analysis of the body in gravity with the capacity to sense different fascial layers and qualities of connective tissues.  Feeling and understanding how collagen fibres react to different types of touch is one of the central focuses of this class. In the exchange with partners, emphasis is placed upon your own body use and how you organise the relationship in gravity.  You will also be introduced to manual interventions using your fingers, knuckles and palms.

Participation in the Touch workshop meets part of the ‘hands-on experience’ required to enter Rolfing® Training.
