Summary

3 day workshop on Support system / Spine / Scoliosis

Scoliosis is a big theme in our daily life practice in Rolfing:
What to do? How to work?

Almost all severe Scoliosis are Lumbar left Convex
(= Thoracal right Convex, with the rib hump on the right)

A normal Spine: Lumbar a Lordosis, Thoracal a Kyphosis.
When we add to the Lordosis the left Convexity and to the Kyphosis in the Thorax the left Concavity we find:
A right rotating Spiral.
Spirals are to be found all over: from Galaxy to our double Helixed DNA.

If we look to our bodies, our back, not in the book, but to our real bodies we find one side more posterior than the other in the lumbar area and vise versa in the thorax

(here often over straightend by: I hold myself up postures; but when we relax a bit: it becomes obvious)
We are all spiralling: our spine is in a spiral organisation.

We will explore the roles of our support system, the pelvic torsion, the shorter leg and the Diaphragme in this aspect of human organisation.
